About Us

The Hungarian Club of South Australia Inc. was established on August 6, 1965. In September 1968, the club acquired a property at 82 Osmond Tce in Norwood, South Australia.

Our Club rooms and Hall were constructed to serve as a hub for wide-ranging social activities and events such as our famous Goulash Nights, live traditional music and dancing, and special Hungarian cultural occasions.

Always welcoming the wider community with our unique and warm Hungarian hospitality, we became a local icon and fully licensed venue for hire for community events, including weddings, parties, birthdays and many other social occasions. Our Club has been used for various community activities such as dance classes, markets, meetings and conferences, and as an accredited Adelaide Fringe venue.

Our new building is currently under construction. We will reopen in early 2026 with a stunning new facility, including a new Hall, Clubrooms, and cosmopolitan street-front cafe for our members, hirers, and the local community to enjoy.

Our new Club will be accessible, connected, and amenable, and it will have secure undercover parking for our members.

While our Hungarian heritage remains the foundation of our Club and membership, we always welcome new members from all cultures and walks of life who share our values.

Membership will have even more benefits; you will not only be able to enjoy our delicious selection of imported Hungarian beers, wines, spirits, and gastronomic delicacies in-house, but you will also have exclusive access to purchase items to take away and enjoy at home.

Members will have early bird access to special events and exclusive access to members-only events.

Some things never change -

our rich traditions, warm hospitality and our great food!
